We all know the great success stories of high-profile corparations and
their outsourced projects. How noone would believe the solution was a
reasonable one, and how the skeptics were proven wrong by history. We
all heard that outsourcing is widely accepted and used nowadays in the
corporate sector to great effect. In the small scale freelancer world
though, outsourcing
is something relatively new. And as anything that's new it is hindered
by a series of problems that threaten to disrupt the smooth flow of the
process.
The biggest issue would be an apparent breakdown in communication between
the entity that outsources projects and looks for the right personel for
their completion, and the would be personel., the freelancer
who would undertake the project and through his/her skills and work would
complete it. This situation can often lead to frustrating events, like
an outsourcer hiring the wrong personel based on the scarce information
available on the would be employees, who also might overestimate their
abilities and embark on a project that they cannot possible finish in
time or do properly.
A free online freelancer community
is the apparent answer to this problem. A piece of cyberspace where the
two involved parties would be able to meet up according to their interests
and abilities, where selection could be done carefully and based on information
that could be checked and double checked. Online communities have been
around almost since the beginning of the internet and they proved that
few things can equal them as far as online communication power goes. These
communities have often united people with interests so peculiar and exotic
that it would've been absolutely unimaginable for them to meet, and discuss
their interests without the power of communication secured by the internet.
With this newfound solution, outsourcing
has experienced a never before seen boom and it leaves us with the
belief that much bigger things are about to happen.
